How best can one described this all in one awards show, what are the best adjectives that readily comes to mind now that the show has come and gone. Fact of the matter is that it was altogether a great show, most especially the fashion aspect of it, that was billed as the appetiser before the main dish served on a platter of gold-that was the awards proper.

ESSENCE

Prior to the D-day ,no day would go without you either hearing about the upcoming SMVA 2010-with the byline 'expect everything' or seeing the commercials on all the television stations, so the mind had been prepared  and many must have gone to great length to make sure to put their best foot forward, in terms of what to wear or how to appear, and truely the venue was jampacked. The fashion event was billed has an exclusive VIP event, so it was like a restricted area, it was a sea of red carpet, everywhere you look at,as far as the eye could see, was covered with the red carpet, except for where the pool itself was, the catwalk,or ramp or walkway like many would call it was like an island atop the sea, and it was very well lit, at a point i particularly didnt think it was a Nigerian thing,as it was so well arranged and the cynosure of all eyes, from all angles you could be at, the center of attraction was clear, the models in great numbers were at their very best, the production was top notch thanks to Jan Malan and Andiswa both very well known fashion personality in Africa, who were on hand with their crew to help out in producing a world class show, and a world class show did they put together. Designer after designer were superlative and models after models strutted like supermodels, in various outfits and even very sexy swim-wears,MAI INSPIRED by Ohimai Atafo,LDA by Lanre Da Silva Ajayi,David Tlale from South Africa,Dax Martin known for his swimwears,Jewel by Lisa,Odion Mimonet,Momo,Mustafa Hasanali and one of my most favourite designer in the world Zizi Cardow, it was a fabulous show.Enjoy this part one.
